HELP THE LIBRARY
IN THE FACE OF DEVASTATING
$40 MILLION
BUDGET CUTS

Even as we celebrate the Library's Centennial, we find ourselves facing the harshest budget cut in its 100-year history — $40 million — if the proposed City budget is ratified.
These budget cuts will have far reaching effects. Some neighborhood libraries could disappear altogether while others would be open just four days a week. Programs for seniors, literacy training, computer classes — and so much more — would all be significantly reduced.
Instead of finding inspiration, education and knowledge, millions of visitors — including hundreds of thousands of New York City schoolchildren — may find closed doors if we do not make up this budget gap.
In our 100 years of service to New Yorkers, we have seen difficult times before. Through thick and thin, the Library has inspired New Yorkers, just as Friends have supported the Library. We know that we can count on you again to keep your Library thriving.
Please donate today and help bridge the funding gap.
